African American Arts Alliance of Chicago 19th Annual Black Excellence Award Ceremony & Gala

The African American Arts Alliance of Chicago is pleased and excited to announce that you have been nominated for a Black Excellence Award.  There are 4 nominees in your category.  The Black Excellence Awards were established to honor the outstanding works produced in African American Theatre, Dance, Music, Film, Literature and Visual Arts.  We ask you to please join us at this years’ ceremony as we honor your excellence in the arts.

Erin Goseer Mitchell has been nominated for a Black Excellence Award for Outstanding Achievement in Literature: Non-Fiction for “From Colored to Black.”

The 19^th Annual Black Excellence Award Ceremony & Gala will take place on Monday, October 28^th at the Black Ensemble Cultural Center, located at 4450 N. Clark Street.  The evening will begin with passed hors d’oeuvres at 6 p.m.    The Awards ceremony will begin at 7 p.m.

This year the Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to jazz singer Dee Alexander.
